Baroque Land and Easter told by the travel bloggers of Enjoy Barocco’s “Social Trip”

Unique tourism destination “Enjoy Barocco” has launched its first“Social Trip,” engaging some of the most influential travel bloggers to tell the story of the magic of Baroque Land through the eyes of visitors. Last year, three Dutch travel bloggers – Tim Vermeer, Shauna Mols and Anne Claessens – and two Americans – Michael Hodgson and Therese Iknoian – were invited to explore the wonders of Ragusa, Modica, Scicli, Ispica and Santa Croce Camerina.

Immersion in Easter traditions

The Dutch were lucky enough to witness the Easter rites, while Americans experienced the Christmas atmosphere. Bloggers documented their experience in their widely followed travel blogs, bringing the Easter traditions of this unique region into the international spotlight.

Unforgettable experiences

One of the most exciting events was the Madonna Vasa Vasa in Modica, where the statue of the Madonna, in a gesture of joy for the Resurrection of Christ, abandons her black mantle to kiss her Risen Son. In Scicli, bloggers participated in the Feast of Joy, an explosion of colors and sounds during the procession of the Risen Christ through the streets of the town.

Cultural and gastronomic explorations

In addition to the religious celebrations, the bloggers explored the magnificent churches and Baroque monuments, which have been declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Local gastronomy played a central role in their trip: from “scacce” to meat “pastizzi,” from cassatelle di ricotta to the famous chocolate of Modica and fresh ricotta from the Massari company.

Moments of relaxation and beauty

Thanks to the initiative’s partners, travel bloggers were able to enjoy moments of pure relaxation, such as breakfasts at Palazzo degli Antoci in Ragusa and breathtaking sunsets from the Cozzo di Papaleo farmhouse. Excursions by electric bike through the alleys of Ibla and along the golden shores of Punta Braccetto further enriched their experience with unforgettable views and a dip into history with excursions to Cava d’Ispica.

International visibility for baroque land

After sharing moments of their trip on social media, travel bloggers published detailed articles in their blogs, even suggesting travel routes. This brought additional visibility to the Baroque Land and its cultural richness, attracting the attention of passionate travel readers from around the world.
