A Journey through Baroque: “Enjoy Barocco – Sicilian Experience” is born.

Imagine a destination where sea, events, food and wine, nature and above all Baroque, recognized as a World Heritage Site, come together in a unique experience. This is the concept behind the new logo “Enjoy Barocco – Sicilian Experience,” created to promote the municipalities of Ragusa, Modica, Scicli, Ispica and Santa Croce Camerina, all part of GAL Terra Barocca.

One Logo, Five Themes

The idea of uniting these wonders into a single destination is represented by a logo that uses five colors, each associated with a different theme: blue for the sea, red for food and wine, brown for culture and baroque, orange for events, and green for nature. The shapes of the logo recall the area’s monuments, from church domes to the lighthouses that dot the coast, creating an image that encapsulates the essence of this region.

The Logo Presentation

The logo was officially unveiled by the LAG president, Ignazio Abbate, together with the deputy mayor of Ragusa, Giovanna Licitra, the councillor of the municipality of Santa Croce Camerina, Patrizia Mandarà, LAG director Salvatore Occhipinti, and university professor Marco Platania, coordinator of the team that developed the master plan.

“We are finally starting with a single tourist destination, thanks to the synergy among the five municipalities of the LAG, working together to attract tourists and invite them to discover our reality,” said President Abbate, “We are focusing on the treasures of our land: good food, sea, landscapes, events and our extraordinary Baroque. Even the logo reflects these concepts with shapes, figures and colors that represent our territory in a geometric and stylistic way, a harmony of elements that reveals unique details and our mission: Enjoy Barocco, because those who come here as tourists leave happier.”

A Master Plan for Success

The “Enjoy Barocco” project stems from the LAG Terra Barocca master plan, which analyzed the local tourism sector in detail, assessing its strengths and weaknesses, and enhancing the area’s attractions. This study led to the creation of a partnership composed of more than 70 entities, including hotels, vacation homes, agritourisms, farms, tour operators, foundations and religious bodies, all united to manage the destination according to the guidelines of the masterplan.

Proposals for Tourists

Five product-market combinations are offered to tourists:

  1. “Discovering the Baroque”: itineraries related to the Baroque and gastronomy.
  2. “Folk and cult”: promotion of religious and folk traditions through events.
  3. “Food and fields: rural tourism.
  4. “Sea and sunshine”: classic beach tourism.
  5. “Full Goblets”: food and wine tourism.

Improvements and Innovations

Among the new features will be uniform tourist signage in the various municipalities and a network of tourist infopoints, i.e., tourist welcome centers, which the five municipalities are setting up thanks to the 7.5 call, with activities related to communication and the creation of a tourist portal through a call for proposals directed directly by the LAG.

The Inauguration of the Infopoints

The first “Enjoy Barocco” tourist infopoint was inaugurated yesterday in Modica, located in the Falcone-Borsellino square at the entrance to the city. This infopoint will soon be named after journalist Giorgio Buscema, for decades a correspondent for the daily newspaper La Sicilia and promoter of cultural events, as well as vice president of the Pro Loco of Modica. The infopoint offers a luggage storage area and toilets for tourists, representing a calling card for the city and the new tourist destination. The City of Ragusa’s infopoint at Donnafugata Castle will also be inaugurated in the coming days, while in Punta Secca, in the territory of Santa Croce Camerina, the current infopoint will be identified with the Enjoy Barocco logo. Projects for Scicli and Ispica are nearing completion.
