Discover the new services at Donnafugata Castle
On October 28, the City of Ragusa inaugurated the tourist infopoint, bookshop and bistro at the impressive Donnafugata Castle. This project, implemented with funding from LAG Terra Barocca ‘s submeasure 7.5, represents a significant step forward in improving tourist reception in the province of Ragusa.
A comprehensive experience for castle visitors
The new facilities, located in the lower reaches of the Castle, provide essential services for the many visitors to the area’s main cultural and tourist attraction. Theinfopoint, branded “Enjoy Barocco,” has a front office with multilingual operators ready to provide useful information and directions.
Bookshop and bistro: culture and relaxation
Inside the castle, service has been enhanced with the opening of a bookshop where visitors can purchase books and gadgets related to the history and culture of the place, and a bistro where it is possible to relax and refresh oneself surrounded by the enchanting atmosphere of Donnafugata.
Additional services and technology support
Baby-sitting services and technological supports are also available for the convention hall and some adjoining rooms, ensuring a comfortable and complete experience for all visitors. These services are managed by the Social Promotion Association “Kairos” and are already operational.
Enhancement of tourism services
Deputy Mayor Giovanna Licitra, who oversaw the project along with Mayor Peppe Cassì, stressed the strategic importance of increasing tourist services. The Donnafugata Castleinfopoint joins the already active tourist centers in Upper Ragusa and Ragusa Ibla. In the coming weeks, thanks to the same GAL Terra Barocca announcement, an infopoint will also be active in Marina di Ragusa, strategically located near the sea, the new bike path and the Doria Promenade.
Public-private synergy for sustainable tourism
The creation of the “Enjoy Barocco” infopoints, in a network with those of the other municipalities that are members of the Local Action Group, will allow the development of new initiatives to benefit Hyblean tourism. The LAG is working on various projects, including the creation of new signage and a sustainable mobility plan that will facilitate green connections between municipalities.
Collaboration between public and private entities, responding to the needs of operators, has made it possible to better target actions to support tourism, offering services based on the real needs of the area.
